The Mercedes Benz Corporate Run Produced by TeamFootWorks Supporting
the United Way in Miami, FL
Motivated by Fitness, alongside Florida International University and Team Celsius supported the United Way on a beautiful Thursday evening 5K run in Downtown Miami, FL.
The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run Series is an institution in South Florida and has become one of the largest 5K races in the nation, ranking fourth in 2009 according to Active.com. It's hard to believe it began in 1985 as part of the 13-city Manufacturers Hanover Corporate Challenge race series with just a few participants. The first event drew local runners who were hooked on the benefits of running and keeping fit. Way back then, there were just a few people that ran 5Ks or marathons. You could count on one hand the companies that had health and wellness programs for their employees. The first Miami Corporate Challenge had just 1,315 participants. Local runners now had a fun event that they could share with their co-workers and participation grew exponentially over time. In 2011, Miami alone drew over 20,400 participants and over 600 companies.
TeamFootWorks, the producers of the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run Series, is proud of the changes and growth of the event throughout its history. The Series broke the 10,000 participant mark in 1994 and surpassed 20,000 participants just three short years later in 1997! Now The Series consistently attract about 25,000+ participants.
"Steps 2 Scholarships" 5K Walk-Run Supporting
the Nat Moore Foundation in Hollywood Beach, FL
On a beautiful Sunday morning, Motivated by Fitness in conjunction with Celsius Inc., and Florida International University Faculty/Staff Members from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences supported the Nat Moore Foundation by attending the "Steps 2 Scholarship" 5L Walk-Run.
Proceeds from Steps 2 Scholarships provided much needed educational scholarships for community-minded students graduating from Broward County and Miami-Dade County high schools. This event helped foster South Florida’s next generation of business and community leaders. The family-friendly, healthy-living event will included a Health/Wellness and Vendor Expo, Kids Fun Run, celebrities, Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, music, and a raffle event.
Beach Beast 5K Benefiting Volunteers of America in Ft. Lauderdale Beach, FL
Motivated by Fitness, fueled by Celsius Inc., joined 1,000's on Ft. Lauderdale Beach, FL for the Beach Beach 5K, benefiting Volunteers of America. Beach Beast is a 3+ mile challenge run with obstacles through sand and surf. The course for each race is tailored to the location and terrain available. The race involved a lot of running and navigating obstacles, but did not include swimming. It is expect to run through ankle-deep water at some point during the course.
